Summary of the QuANTUM-First trial, a phase 3 study evaluating the efficacy and safety of a new FLT3-ITD inhibitor, added to standard chemo, compared to placebo + standard chemo. Quizartinib Advancement Into the Next Generation of Trials for Unmet Needs in AML – First Line (QuANTUM-First) is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, global, phase 3 study evaluating the efficacy and safety of quizartinib compared to placebo + standard induction and consolidation CTa including allo-HSCT (quizartinib arm) versus placebo + standard CTa (placebo arm), followed by single-agent continuation therapy for up to ~3 years in adult patients with FLT3-ITD–positive newly diagnosed AML aged 18–75 years. The primary endpoint of this study was OS. Prof Dr Pau Montesinos, a haematologist at the Hospital Universitario y Politècnico La Fe in Valencia, Spain, presented a post-hoc analysis of the phase 3 QuANTUM-First study. This analysis evaluated the impact of age (<60 years vs. ≥60 years) on the efficacy of quizartinib in patients with newly diagnosed FLT3-ITD-positive AML. LIXIANA® 1x/d is geïndiceerd bij volwassen patiënten voor de: • Preventie van beroerte en systemische embolie bij NVAF met één of meer risicofactoren zoals congestief hartfalen, hypertensie, leeftijd ≥75 jaar, diabetes mellitus, eerdere beroerte of transiënte ischemische aanval (TIA) • Behandeling van diep-veneuze trombose (DVT) en pulmonaire embolie (PE) na minstens 5 dagen gebruik van parenterale antistolling • Preventie en behandeling van herhaalde DVT en PE na minstens 5 dagen gebruik van parenterale antistolling.
